20 Horses Ready To Start Ariat Kentucky Reining Cup

Lexington, KY—April 26— The ground jury accepted all 20 horses presented this afternoon for the second annual Ariat Kentucky Reining Cup, a competition added to the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event schedule following reining’s popularity at the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games at the Kentucky Horse Park.

A separate panel of judges awarded Ariat prizes for the best-dressed man and the best-dressed woman at the first horse inspection.

Mandy McCutcheon, of Aubrey, Texas, won the women’s category.

Casey Hinton, of Whitesboro, Texas, won the men’s category.

Friday night features the three-star reining event, and Saturday night features the fun-filled World Freestyle Championship. That competition will include freestyle rides by Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event winners Karen and David O’Connor, 2008 Olympic silver medalist Gina Miles, and former jockey Chris McCarron.

Ariat Kentucky Reining Cup tickets are just $18 per person for Friday’s $100,000 CRI3* with Lyle Lovett and $25 per person for Saturday’s World Championship Freestyle with the celebrity field.  Tickets may be ordered on line or by phone and will be held at the Will Call window for pick-up at the event.  Hospitality options, including the use of luxury suites in the Alltech Arena for both nights of competition, are also available.
